Well Crap

I was cleaning my blog, deleting a bunch old posts, and accidentally deleted some I didn't want to. I'm going to repost a few, so if you have a subscription you may see odd old posts floating in because of that. Unfortunately there's no blogger recover or trash can feature that I can just undo the delete. Frowny face. Also, while I can repost them, the comments are gone. And unfortunately it seems I can't post them to the same URL. The blogger post URL seems to be irrevocably marked with the post date, and even if I retro-date the post it still uses the current date to make the URL. eg. I tried to repost this one : http://cbloomrants.blogspot.com/2008/09/09-27-08-2.html (On LZ and ACB) and even though I retro-dated it, the URL is still in the dir of the present : http://cbloomrants.blogspot.com/2017/07/09-27-08-2.html so that means any links to the old posts will be broken and I have no way to fix them. UPDATE : not quite right, but it still doesn't work. That's what happens if I post it and then update the date. You can also set the date at post time using the "schedule" feature to schedule it in the past. Then the URL for the post gets the desired back-dated dir. BUT if I do that it seems to detect that an old post had the same URL and it modifies the URL. eg. I tried to repost : http://cbloomrants.blogspot.com/2008/10/10-10-08-7.html and it changed it to : http://cbloomrants.blogspot.com/2008/10/10-10-08-7_10.html So yay.
